A.S.E.C.C.'s Technical Board
Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have
about our Technical Board.

What should I include in my posting?
You must include in every Technical Question your Name and E-Mail address. In the message box please put in the best description as you possibly can when
asking a Question. Things like Model , type or spec. and code numbers when possible.

Why is my posting missing ?
Your posting has most likely been deleted for one of the following reasons.
Either you were Spamming! the Technical Board or your posting
had to do with hit and miss engines (stationary engines), vehicles, boats,
trailers, etc. Your E-Mail address was not included with your posting. Or your
posting has ran for approximately 30 days and has been deleted.

Spamming
Spamming any of our Boards is severely frowned upon. By this I mean posting
your ad multiple times in a row. Using ALL CAPS, or re-posting the same
Message daily to "keep it on top" of the list. Please do not use ALL CAPS
anywhere in your Message. Do not put any words
in ALL CAPS after these words in the subject line. Do not put anything in
the Name line except your name. Please put your E-mail address in the E-Mail
line and only your E-Mail address. I used to edit these Messages, but
I was spending way to much time editing, so now I am deleting them.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message.
The maintainer of the script has the option of allowing or disallowing
any HTML in the Message part of your posting. If they disallow it, the
script will just throw out everything in <>'s. If they allow it,
your html markup will appear in the posting. It can't hurt to try.

Why are there colons in the message when I try to
post a follow up?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to follow up up on
a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.
The owner of the Board can decide whether they wish to enable or
disable the quoting of previous messages.

Why didn't my post show up?
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload
the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and
it should then appear. When you post a message the first button you push says
Preview Message. When you hit this button it will take you to a Preview page
of your message. This is so you can make sure your message is the way you want
it before you actually post it. If you have made a mistake just hit your back
button on your browser and then correct your message. If your message is the
way you want it, then just hit the post message button. To see if your message
has been posted you must go to the board page and Reload ( Refresh ) it. Do
this before you try to repost your message so you don`t post your message twice. |
