I live in Indiana. Currently I
have a Sears 500 (Briggs Model WI). I picked a "Y" up before
it was destined to become the contents in a smelting pot. It sat on the shelf
with my two 5S engines for a few months after sitting in a warehouse for who
knows how long. All told I have 24 engines (to the best of my recollection) with the
Model Y Briggs being the oldest and the 5hp I\C on my Chipper Shredder being
the newest at only 16 years old.
I could go on for hours about my passion for old Briggs Iron and unusual engines,
but I'll spread it out over a period of time with the rest of the group. I
will say that the majority are cast iron Briggs with one Airline Charger
by Montgomery Wards sold in the 1940s, a Wisconsin Robin 2 cycle on my Snapper Heavy Duty
push mower that's about 20 years old, a 3.6hp Clinton 1200 series vintage 1956-57
I believe and so on and so on. The majority are larger HP Briggs Iron, but if I
see it along the road, it's mine.

I live in California. I collect old tools and until recently have not collected engines,
however I was given an old walk behind garden tractor with a PB Briggs engine, N. 16055 It has
individual power to steel wheels with cone clutches, cone is wood. Kind of unique machine.
Engine is stuck and I have oil in cylinder and bucket on crank. This friend also brought
me a triangle floor jack on swivel wheels that has screw jacks on two points and is in
excellent condition after I removed rust and stuck parts, crank handle to lift old cars
axles. Casting says patent Nov. 27 1914 I took to classic car show where I was
invited to bring my old " T " truck. It is really hillbilly My first car, I
bought it 58 years ago, the year before I started high school, I have yet to spend a hundred
dollars on it. I use fire hoses for front tires and old rubber bumper
off life boat for back tires. It is a hoot, no hood leaks water and have pot on roof
with hose to refill in parades. It needs new first gear band as it is tough
to load.
